The Comedy Store
Campaign concept and copywriting for a Manchester comedy institution
This campaign was designed to get people through the doors of The Comedy Store, Manchester’s legendary live comedy venue. The Comedy Store is known for its sharp wits and even sharper acts, so the campaign needed to reflect that same energy.
My creative solution was a simple yet flexible concept: “Come to…”. It positions The Comedy Store as a destination, inviting audiences to engage with comedy in all its forms. The campaign playfully builds the invitation into the venue’s name, by highlighting the ‘come’ in comedy and the ‘to’ in store, each message reads two ways: both as The Comedy Store and as a call to action.
The tone is fun, inclusive and deliberately open-ended, encouraging people to come for the acts, the atmosphere, or even just a great night out. Visually, the concept gives the brand a modular voice that can adapt with seasons, line-ups and marketing formats, without ever losing its identity.
This campaign blends copywriting and visual thinking to create a distinctive, energetic message; one that turns a night at The Comedy Store into something to actively choose, anticipate and talk about.
