The Page-turner Festival

Advertising campaign for The Page-turner Festival using a corner of a newspaper

How do you attract a walk-in audience to a storytelling festival in London?

The convention is located in central London, easily accessible via the underground network. There, you’ll find many free communal newspapers, and lots of readers.

The idea

Take out adverts at the bottom of pages 2 & 3. Insert make-believe articles based upon real tales, with a twist.

Image showing the newspaper corner folding into position

The two articles fold together to form an invitation to the festival.

The invitation asks to be ripped out and used as a ticket for free entry.

The perforated edges make it easy to tear.

The missing corners attract attention and what remains of the newspaper is a simple advertisement for the festival from page 5, showing through to the cover.
